A letter to my daughter at Christmas / Linda Cope (Mother)
My Dearest Stacy,
It's Christmas. What can I give you now my precious child? If I could, I would give you my life so that you may live again. Your life was cut short and you didn't have time to experience life to the fullest. You were sick and in pain so much of the time, but you still found a way to look for the good in things. I tried to be a good mother, and teach you all the things that were important in life. Manners, self respect and to be a compassionate, and caring person. To be able to find humor and beauty in everything you experienced in life. And to take pride in all you accomplished. I want to tell you I am so lost without you. I miss you dearly and wish you were here with me. Remember how much fun we had putting up the Christmas tree every year? We decorated the whole house and put lights everywhere, even outside. This is my second Christmas without you. I still can't bring myself to put up a tree and decorate it. It just breaks my heart to think of doing it without you. I want you to know that you are in my thoughts every day and night, and that I wish I could be with you now. Oh, how I long to give you a hug and see your sweet smile again. My life is nothing without you, and I hate getting up every morning, knowing I will never see you in this life again. So until we meet again someday, just know how much I miss you.
